| Cape Cod
Colonial A small, symmetrical, 1 1/2-story, compact house with a central entrance. The roof is the steep gable type covered with shingles. The early Cape Cods were very crude usually having only one room on the first floor and a sleeping loft above, but the modern version was one of the most popular house styles in the U.S. being much more roomier in size. |
