New England Farm House A simple box-shaped house with white clapboard siding and a steep pitched roof. Built in the 1700's and 1800's throughout New England countryside, they were a favorite of farmers that had little money to spend. Simple to construct and maintain, the centrally located chimney was used to support the frame of the house.
